The mission of Buxley’s Barbell is to provide a free private gym for veterans to utilize to become the best  version of themselves. The fitness portion of Buxley’s Battalion is a small private box gym. At our gym, we created open spots for weight loss boot camp classes for civilians, in addition to the veteran training program. Our gym offers Olympic lifting platform, free weights, and functional fitness equipment for workouts and cardio. All training and classes incorporate the spirit of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that has helped many veterans, including myself. We provide individual or group classes.   Veterans will work with a trainer for either one on one training or in a group class to help them lose weight, build strength, and become mentally healthier by doing physical fitness and following a healthy diet. Each veteran will have a three-month block of goals to work towards. There will be weigh-ins each week and body measurements twice a week. At the end of each three-month block, Buxley’s Battalion and each veteran will assess if moving on to a bigger fitness facility is necessary for continued progress. The veteran will continue to follow the nutritional plan and do weekly check-ins for monitoring and measurements.   Classes for Buxley’s Battalion will be 45 min each – 15 min warm up then 30 min of conditioning training. Each class will have a maximum of ten veterans that will be a team. The teams will work to inspire and motivate each other to help the veteran work towards their own goals. The teams will have a private FB group to use for asking questions, motivating each other, and accountability.   Our veteran training is by appointment only, and we are available Monday through Saturday. Our civilian boot camp slots are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm as follows:
  • 4:00 pm – 4:45pm
  • 4:45 pm – 5:30pm
  • 5:30 pm – 6:00pm
  • 6:00 pm – 6:45pm
  • 7:00 pm – 7:45pm
Classes will be held in groups of six for 45 minutes consisting of a 15-minute warmup and a 30-minute class.   These classes will be fun, but challenging. We are seeking those who are truly searching for help in losing weight, but cannot afford a personal trainer. Please note, there is no A/C; only fans. This creates a challenging environment, but the reward is gaining confidence and being able to overcome obstacles. The class will be 30 minutes of high-intensity, safe, and fun exercises designed to help you lose weight, be functional, and feel as if you did some work.   Once you sign up for the boot camp, you will be invited to a private group on Facebook to help motivate each other. You will also receive guidance on weight loss: nutrition guidance, a food plan, and monitoring. We will have weigh-ins each week and body measurements twice a week.   Civilian classes will cost $100 per month. Since Buxley’s Barbell is for veterans, we do not charge them a monthly fee. If you help us reach a veteran interested in our gym by bringing him/her with you, we will give you a Veteran Referral Rate of $75 per month for three (3) months. If you show us a donation receipt of a minimum $20 that went to, we will give you the referral rate for three months. We are committed to providing results. If you don’t lose weight after coming to classes three (3) times a week for three (3) months along with following the food plan and instructions we ask you to do, we will refund you one (1) month of your membership. This is our way of encouraging the winning mindset we know is possible in all of you.
